Why take the DIY route ?

Why Diy?

The main advantage of going the DIY route is definitely the substantial cost savings involved.

Veka Halo  manufacture conservatories to incorporate unique design features, making them the most DIY-friendly conservatories available , which can easily be assembled by the average DIY'er with a basic set of tools.

Our customers say that they experience a great sense of pride and satisfaction, having completed the project themselves and to a professional standard.

Many of our customers get their builder or joiner to construct a conventional base or steel base and fit their conservatory for them - and still enjoy the substantial cost savings compared to getting a local company to do the job lot.

Do I need planning or building regulation consent?

please access our local authority pages on the left border for specific information

Can I build a conservatory over a manhole?

You can build a conservatory over a manhole by fitting a double-sealed manhole cover which is relatively inexpensive. You will not need planning permission in England or Wales for this specific issue, however you will need building regulation approval if you decide to move the position of the manhole and you may also need to check local bylaws and restrictive covenants in your property deeds.

How can I make sure the conservatory will fit the finished conservatory brickwork?

For complete peace-of-mind, We supply an easy-to-understand, computer-generated base/brickwork plan and conservatory panel plan soon after you have placed your order. You or your builder can use this to build your base/brickwork to the exact dimensions that we will manufacture your conservatory to.

How can I be sure my conservatory will fit my existing brickwork

Every conservatory is made-to-measure to your exact sizes and specifications. We will advise you how to measure your existing base/brickwork and for complete peace-of-mind, we will supply an easy-to-understand, computer-generated base/brickwork plan to check and sign before we manufacture your conservatory.

Can my conservatory be fitted into a corner?

No problem. We manufacture many of our conservatories with only two sides to fit into corners or with only one side to fit between two walls. For a Victorian or Edwardian conservatory, we will manufacture and supply the roof with a box gutter to take the rainwater at the wall side. For complete peace-of-mind, we will supply an easy-to-understand, computer-generated base/brickwork plan to check and sign before we manufacture your conservatory.

Can I fit a conservatory onto full height solid walls?

This is very common and does not present a problem to us. We will manufacture the frames to the same height as your brick wall(s) and the roof will simply sit on top. For complete peace-of-mind, we will supply an easy-to-understand, computer-generated base/brickwork plan to check and sign before we manufacture your conservatory.

Can I fit a conservatory onto 3/4 height walls?

No problem. We will manufacture small frames to sit on top of your wall(s) to bring the total height to the same as the other frames and doors. For complete peace-of-mind, we will supply an easy-to-understand, computer-generated base/brickwork plan to check and sign before we manufacture your conservatory.

Can I fit the conservatory to my bungalow or single story extension

In the case of a Sun Lounge, we will supply a low-pitch roof ( minimum 2.5 degrees) to overcome the height-restriction. For Victorian and Edwardian conservatories, we will manufacture and supply a hipped-back roof with a box gutter. This means that the roof will slope down at the back (the same as at the front) to your existing property to overcome any height restriction.

Whats your typical delivery period?

We can normally manufacture and deliver your conservatory to anywhere in the UK, mainland or offshore within 21 days from final confirmation of order. However many customers place a holding deposit to secure an early-order discount or offer, for up to 3 months before delivery is required. We provide this facility to cater for customers waiting for house purchases or planning permission approval. If subject to planning permission approval and in the very unlikely event of planning permission being declined, holding deposits are fully refundable.

What are your payment options

We accept cash, cheques, bank transfers and all major credit and debit cards. If you would like to pay by any other method, please ask.
